Speak Out! About Inaccessible Information and Telecommunication Technology

This publication brings together information about 13 Federal laws that support accessible information and telecommunication technology. It provides an overview of consumers' rights, and presents step-by-step instructions on how to complain when you encounter inaccessible technology. Fictional scenarios, sample letters, and letter templates also are included to help consumers voice their opinions about inaccessible technology encountered in the workplace and the marketplace. Available as a stand-alone publication or included in the Consumer Training Kit; print and CD versions are available from the ITTATC website. Web Access Policy and Standards Construction Tool

Price: Free.

This online tool helps organizations and state and local governments develop policies and standards that support the development, procurement, and maintenance of accessible websites. The user is guided through the process of creating a policy or standards document by posing questions and issues that should be considered along the way. Excerpts and sample language with links to the source documents from existing state government policies and standards documents can also be reviewed and saved to the user's working document. The resulting resource provides a strong foundation upon which the user can create a custom policy and/or standards document that supports their particular situation. The tool can be explored in "demo mode" but an account must be set-up to save selections and edits when creating a web access policy and/or standards.
