The course will provide an overview of work accommodations and home modifications for people with differing abilities and aging adults. It will include assistive technology (AT), accessible design, and universal design (UD) accommodations to help individuals achieve success in their environments. Participants will focus on the accommodation process, including assessing needs, identifying resources, and supplementing funding. Case studies will address functional limitations and frequently recommended accommodations. Students will learn the impact of environmental factors, general accommodation strategies and examples of commonly used technology that makes use of that strategy.
