Sanford attends conference of the Gerontological Society of America

2008-11-25 - Jon Sanford, Director of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA) recently attended the annual conference of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) where he chaired the Physical Environments and Aging (PEA) Interest Group Meeting and spoke in the PEA sponsored symposium on challenges in planning and operationalizing environmental interventions in geriatric research. PEA brings together an interdisciplinary group of designers, researchers and practitioners to explore key issues in the design of products, technologies, buildings and spaces to support the health, safety and welfare of older adults as well as those that provide their care. The interest group plans to sponsor two symposia at next year’s conference in Atlanta around the theme of neighborhood design and healthy aging.
