Sanford attends American Society on Aging Board meeting in Las Vegas

2008-11-21 - Jon Sanford recently attended the mid-year Board meeting of the American Society on Aging (ASA) in Las Vegas, NV. As the Chair of ASA’s Network on Environments, Services and Technologies, Jon has been an active member of the ASA Board for the past 2.5 years. The organization is dedicated to support the commitment and enhance the knowledge and skills of those who seek to improve the quality of life of older adults and their families. The 600 members of ASA represent a multidisciplinary array of professionals including providers of aging services, educators, administrators, policymakers, business people, researchers, and students, concerned with the physical, environmental, emotional, social, economic and spiritual aspects of aging. No other organization in the field of aging represents the diversity of settings and professional disciplines reached by ASA. ASA’s annual conference will be in Las Vegas in March 2009.

Jon Sanford is the director of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA). CATEA, a research center under the College of Architecture of Georgia Tech, promotes independence and knowledge for people with disabilities through assistive technology and environmental access. CATEA focuses on the design, evaluation and use of assistive technology and accessible environments.
