"Humanscale" is documentation of useful information on the relationship of body dimensions to environment and work. It was based upon the 1962 Public Health study that is now 40 years old. However, this documentation has the only dimensional resource on people over 65 - including men and women up to the age of 79. The work itself is an evolution of the Dreyfuss study called "Measure of Man." Major national and international anthropometric data collection efforts have proven to be costly, time consuming and lacking in full representation of the full spectrum of ages. It is apparent that another methodology must be undertaken that allows data collection on a continuing basis - in smaller quantities through independent studies - that still adhere to a common protocol - in order to gain a full representation of all age segments.
