Dealing with objects within the environment, there are issues of legibility that are dependent upon visibility as critical aspects of two dimensional communication and product technologies. In the slide above, there is an example of contrast and visibility among the various papers and other communications on the desk surface. The cover, reading "JG GPF" is white lettering on a black surface - the most visible figure ground relationship in any lighting conditions. While partially obscured through the empathic lens, it is still visible and legible.
