Watch Your Step...The split in the photo has eliminated the "yo" however the difficulty is made quite visible in this empathic lens photograph.
Note: the saturation of the color on the right is lower than that of the left. This is a realistic demonstration of the loss of sensitivity to color brightness.
The definition of edges- steps- changes from side to side as low illumination and low vision defuse the images.

There is insufficient contrast at the edges of the steps on the entrance to the bus as shown in this slide. However, the empathic lens also clearly demonstrates the reduction of intensity of color.
