Narration of Slide 13

Listen to the Audio (MP3, 382 KB) or read the transcript:

Overall growth in the American population is significant through to mid-century. It is astounding to realize a 50% growth in the total population inside 55 years. That expansion in population equals or betters the total growth from the time the United States became a nation until 1950.

Americans have realized the impact of this growth - and its relation to diversity. The Hispanic population now out-numbers African-Americans and they are powerful within certain states such as Texas, California and most of the southwest. This changing population will alter the reality of America and even alter the

elusive notion of an American dream.
