Narration of Slide 1

Listen to the Audio (MP3, 383 KB) or read the transcript:

Designing for older adults - and making older adults an inclusive part of any consumer product design process - requires understanding their position in the American economy and their growing impact upon the totality of product and technology development. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary to identify who the older adult population really is, their growth in numbers and wealth, where they live, what their interests are, their involvement in work and their demands upon the American health care system.

This program is not comprehensive because the amount of information to cover is so great. Rather, this program contains highlights intended to provoke additional investigation by those who review its contents.
