Study on Inclusive Indoor Play

Play is necessary for physical and mental development in children. However, many children with disabilities are not able to participate in play, and thereby experience further developmental delay. This new project focuses on children’s indoor play and how environmental barriers may limit play and social interaction. We are embarking on an environmental research study using readily available play equipment for children. For this research, we are recruiting children with and without disabilities, 4-8 years of age. Children who participate in the study will play with readily available indoor play equipment found in the market. Participants will be compensated for their participation; cash compensation and a toy for the children.
