Exciting Changes at the CATEA Consumer Network, New CCN Coordinator Announced
This spring, CATEA will be working on increasing and diversifying CCN membership, broadening opportunities for member participation, and increasing member services.

CSUN 2008 Presentation on the CCN
Robert L. Todd, the Director of the CCN, will presenting information on the Network at the 2008 California State University at Northridge Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference (CSUN) on Saturday March 15, 2008.

New Cellphone Survey
This semester, Dr. Stephen Sprigle, the Director of CATEA, is teaching a Human Centered Design class to students in the Masters of Industrial Design Program at Georgia Tech. Currently, Dr. Sprigle’s class is analyzing the use of cell phones for people with disabilities.

New Survey on Information Sharing
CATEA has a new survey coming in March/April on online information sharing.

CATEA Develops a Innovative Method of early Bruise and Erythema Detection
A group of research scientists lead by Dr. Stephen Sprigle have developed a filter mosaic for camera lenses and microscopes that allows the user to see multiple wavelengths of visual to infrared light (a technology known as multi-spectral imaging) in one image exposure.

CATEA Completes Power Wheelchair Study
Sharon Sonenblum and Stephen Sprigle of CATEA, along with Christine Maurer of The Shepherd Center, and CATEA contract scientist Frances Harris, have recently published their results from a 2007 study of powered wheelchair use by full-time wheelchair users in their homes and around their communities.

ICADI 2008 Presentations on Older Workers
Members of CATEA’s WorkRERC presented at the International Conference on Aging, Disability, and Independence Conference 2008 (ICADI) in St. Petersburg, FL from February 21st through the 23rd.
