This semester, Dr. Stephen Sprigle, the Director of CATEA, is teaching a Human Centered Design class to students in the Masters of Industrial Design Program at Georgia Tech. This class is focused on design as it relates to products for the human body. Specifically, the course focuses on aging, disabilities and environments. Currently, Dr. Sprigle’s class is analyzing the use of cell phones for people with disabilities. The three areas they are focusing on are vision, hearing, and dexterity.
For their class project, each group of students devised a survey to begin their investigation. There is one survey for each area of disability studied. Be on the look-out for an email regarding these surveys if you identified in your registration that you have a vision, hearing or dexterity disability.
