We are pleased to announce that Jon Sanford has been appointed the new Director of CATEA. Jon succeeds Stephen Sprigle, who, after 6 years as Director, steps down to devote more time to his research and academic pursuits.

$4.7 Million Awarded to CATEA to Continue Wheeled Mobility RERC
Congratulations to Dr. Stephen Sprigle and his team at CATEA! CATEA has recently been awarded a grant to continue research and development as the national Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Wheeled Mobility (Mobility RERC) for another 5 years.

We are currently seeking subject ot help us evalute a new wheelchair-transfer board system for older adults.

Barriers to Wheeled Mobility Users in Community Survey
People who rely on wheeled mobility devices to get around their communities confront a variety of obstacles that may make it difficult for them to participate in everyday activities. Researchers at CATEA are interested in learning more about these barriers and how they impact peoples' lives.

Need Participants for Wheelchair Study
We are currently seeking subjects to participate in a study investigating how wheelchairs and wheelchair cushions are used.

Upcoming Study on the Effect of User Input during the Design of an Assistive Technology Product
This study will investigate the question of how user input during different stages of the design process impact the usability, effectiveness and satisfaction of an Assistive Technology (AT) product.
