The study will investigate the question of how user input during different stages of the design process impact the usability, effectiveness and satisfaction of an Assistive Technology (AT) product.
The goal is to identify the phases of product design where user input makes the most impact on a finished product. Knowing the answer to this question could potentially help AT companies make better use of user input during the design of products and ultimately help to improve the overall design of AT products. To investigate this question, several design teams will be tasked to re-design a product specifically for use by those with limitations in dexterity.
We will be recruiting users with dexterity limitations to participate in the study to provide input to the teams during the re-design of the product. We will also recruit users to perform usability evaluations of the finished products to judge the level of success of the re-design. We expect to begin the study sometime between the middle of October and beginning of November. If you are interested in participating, watch your email for the invitation.
